Energy just alerted me that I'd be lights out until Wednesday. Powers still on now but I'm assuming that the plug is getting pulled shortly. Thats what I get for talkin shite about people being weak. My wife won't make it to morning

Realistically how long will it take for road conditions to improve tomorrow in Baton Rouge? I feel like by noon the sun should help a lot.

Sun is supposed to be out all morning, I think after lunch they will start opening sections of the interstate
No clue how long it takes raised roads to thaw

Not necessarily. We've gotten a few alerts from Entergy over the years about our power being out; funny enough, sometimes we're home and the power stays on the whole time.

We are having a family slumber party in front of the fire place. Wife and 2 little girls are sound asleep while I pull fire/water watch. Haven’t lost power yet but just in case the fire will keep us warm.

I still say that I would prefer this temperature (not conditions) over 100+

screw that. Being stuck inside is terrible. No fishing, no golf, no sports. No hanging out. Oh. I have tons of gear, can stay warm as shite. But it blows

I'm surprised it took this long for that post

I'm not sure I would want to pull my pants down in 6 deg weather. Maybe

Eta - probably

You've got to pick 1
Hurricane 135 winds/no storm surge. 95 degree heat after for 3 days. No a/c power
Or
This Ice storm event

Add in Mosquitoes, bugs, leaky roof, no fence, trees down, etc

Give me a 2 day winter ice storm event all day every day.
