It's a fun change of pace if you don't lose power, but I can't imagine many people would rather what SLA got vs a normal hot arse day.

@JudgeKPGeorge

Cell phone service is starting to break down over the region as back up generators at towers are freezing or running out of fuel or both.

Increasing outages will be possible overnight.

to be fair, as parts of La and Oklahoma, among others, would likely be begging to come along and oil would be running wild, there would be no shortage of gas to run larger generators, and backup generators for the backup generator.

Yup, at least with 100+ degrees, you have electricity, don’t worry about pipes, drive on the road, run errands.

Dude, if it routinely got this cold none of that would be an issue.

I still say that I would prefer this temperature (not conditions) over 100+

Watching Fox8 News out of NOLA and they interviewed the owner of Mike's Hardware. He said no one was prepared for this storm or demand on their goods.

Funny thing is I've followed this thread at nauseum for 9 days and was fully prepared 5 days ago. On Saturday 2-6-21, a dear friend of mine was told he had to get to MDA for cancer treatment at 43 years old. On a group text that day, I told him to get there by Thursday 2-11-21 as an Arctic blast was headed that was going to extend to South Texas. He and his wife got to Houston on Friday 2-12-21 at 2pm to start treatment on Saturday 2-13-21. MDA called them at 2:30 to say they needed to reschedule the arrival to the 22nd due to the impeding winter storm. He replied to the group and said I was spot on last Saturday and wondered how I was certain of this event.

to the OT weather gurus that bring us all here in times like this.

Absolutely.

As long as you don't have well water, there's nothing to worry about. Bundle up, pour a glass and ride it out. Being cold builds character. You can even keep your beer on the porch!
