So in the most basic terms, the worst is over for this cold blast. (not the Wednesday Thursday situation) The precipitation for this blast has passed & Conditions aren’t expected to worsen between now and tomorrow in Baton Rouge, correct?

We decided we are going to stay put in Florida an extra night & head back to BR in the morning. I really wanted to go back today since i10 & 12 westbound is open. We’d exit at the split where it’s closed then take surface roads to siegen to get to oak hills. But i suppose that’s dangerous....

10 & 12 are open westbound all the way to the 10-12 split in Louisiana but it’s probably not wise to go now. Tomm looks like the smarter time to chance it. Higher temps- possibly above freezing - and maybe a little sun - at least that’s what one of the local BR forecasters said at 9:30am this morning. We are in Florida and trying to figure this out too. From what i can tell Tomm looks ok.

Thats because it is an art. Not many posters are as talented as I am. My trigger skills are next to none.

I mean, have you ever heard of anyone getting banned from posting on the Food Board??

Do you realize how hard that is?

“OKLAHOMA - The Southwest Power Pool has declared an Energy Emergency Alert level 3, which is the highest alert level.“

This country is so screwed if they push for more electric cars by 2025. Our electric power grid infrastructure is in terrible condition already and there is no way it will be able to accommodate this change in useage.

I’m in Madisonville. My son swore up and down he saw flurries about twenty minutes ago. I didn’t bother to look outside because I thought he was full of shite.

Scenario:

in Shreveport with full utilities and everything right now, but Wednesday at the moment is calling for lots of ice

we don't have a fire place or a generator and I have 2 young kids

I'm thinking of driving to my parents place in the morning near Alex as they have a whole home generator, so even if they lose power, we will be good

I have a 4x4 truck and we will travel backroads at 45 mph the entire way, it may take us 4 hours to get there

is this a terrible idea? of if y'all were in my situation, would you do the same?
