It IS going to get dicey. I hate it, but I think I’m going fill up some gas cans later.

I know it's coming... but I have yet to see 1 drop of rain or 1 pellet of sleet

It’s not supposed to really get going until early tomorrow morning. Give it time.

Still haven’t heard anything yet from my job for work tomorrow. Guess it’s a full go. I drive through Gonzales Prairieville and Baton Rouge. Am I missing something or shouldn’t we be off.

They may be holding off until it verifies and they see how bad it is. Just remember, it is your life....not their's.

Automated St. Tammany call just now; they plan on having regular classes tomorrow.

i just tried running my central ac unit's gas heater with my generator
for some reason the fan kicks on immediately when i plug it in and doesn't stop
any ideas? could it be a ground issue?
eta: it's an inverter generator with clean enough power to run electronics as i have done before, maybe it's not clean enough for the boards in the unit?

I’m in the same boat. Company headquarters is up north and a significant portion of my day is spent driving. Not just main roads, but to clients’ homes. The boss was unimpressed by our forecast. Made me feel like a little bitch for even calling. I’m not risking my life or my car, though.

Whatever you do, don’t use kitty litter. It turns to concrete when the ice/snow melts.

What's the problem? You don't bust your arse and you get a new patio. Sounds like a win/win.

It’s colder than Trendon Watford’s first 10 games of freshman season FT percentage out there

Don't air our company's business on the internet. Be at my desk first thing tomorrow morning.

Your boss is used to cities having the equipment to keep roads drivable. Wait until the M. If the ice/snow hits you, the city will close the roads and your boss won’t have a choice.

I will tell you how my Pops put it years ago. He worked at a plant and his boss was from Minneapolis and had only been down here for a few months. We had a similar setup and the boss pretty much demanded that everyone come in. Pops took emergency leave and told his boss that when he starts paying his car note and insurance he can make that decision for him. It just so happened that the storm rolled in about an hour before shift change. Pops stayed at home and so did most of the crew. Their boss, however took on his 20 mile drive in. About 5 miles away from work he hit black ice, went off the road, and broadsided a thicket of medium size trees and brush. He couldn't get out of the car and had no cell phone then. Fortunately, a tow truck driver spotted him a couple hours later and called for help.
Pops called him the next morning and offered to let him borrow one of our vehicles, but only when the ice cleared up.
