IDK but Benson's widow (Gayle Benson, owner of the Saints and Pelicans) is the richest person in the state, by all reports, worth ~ $2.7B.

If you’re talking about Florida Marine then no, not even close to having a net worth of over $100mm.

One of his local competitors that I won’t mention his name but yes, he is. As well as Benny Cenac

There's a lot more money in this state than people think, though by no means does that mean it's a rich state comparatively speaking.

I could add several people to this list that most haven't even heard of. The true list would be well above 77.

Transportation companies, owned by politically connected people in smaller areas, did VERY well in the 80's.

My wife's step-father either falls in this category or he is very close.

I doubt there are very many more than 77. I think some of the names in here I’ve seen thrown around people are overestimating net worth. I think people would surprised who they think has a $100mm+ that really don’t and who has a $100mm+ that you’d never know.

Of course, this is the OT and people are on a first name basis with all of them

I tend to agree. According to most sources we only have 1 or 2 billionaires. It's not shocking to think there are only around 80 or so people in the 100 million net worth range

Most sources I’ve seen listed Benson as the states sole billionaire. I’d assume that Dore is legally domiciled in Alabama. Those are probably the only two candidates.

Just in Terrebonne

Jeannie Saia( Johnny’s wife, one of 2 brothers who started it all)
Benny Cenac
Tommy Parkhill
Gerald Loring ( Tommy and Gerald sold HWC to T Boone Pickens for $1 billion)
Bob Cournoyer (Might be really close. One of his close friends is Steve Wynn)

Keep in mind net worth doesn't mean straight cash, it's assets. (Land, houses, businesses, etc.)

Um, you don't know the meaning of net worth. You have to subtract liabilities.
