Arizona has at least 4 of these plants. It’s ranked pretty low for public schools.
Microchip manufacturing probably something that could work in northern Louisiana.

you think any major business is going to invest in that state?
The $3 billion steel mill in Ascension was built about 5 years ago. Sasol in Lake Charles recently went up. It is the largest chemical plant in the western hemisphere.

Louisiana lawmakers probably thought a semiconductor was a part-time orchestra leader and didn't want any part of it.

Another thing to consider is these foundries are expensive as frick to build and maintain, and well Louisiana has been a Major Hurricane Magnet over the course of the last 4 years or so.

LA has been close on several huge projects. There are several more in the works. All the ones I worked on across state that were lost were lost because of things LA couldn't control. A few crushing whiffs, because things change.
LA has significant enough assets and incentives to garner attention from surprising sources. Need alignment up the stack, not across.

It amazes me how most love to blame a Democratic Governor for all of the state's problems. Let me remind you of some simple facts. Both houses of the legislature are controlled by Republicans and have been that way for about 20 years.
JBE is in office due to the GOP running 2 candidates against him. The vote gets split and JBE gets elected. But it is a lot more convenient to blame JBE instead of asking your GOP leadership to get their collective heads out of their collective butts for running 2 candidates.
The main problem is in the Legislature. Vote them out. You don't like the amount of power the Governor has? Amend the Louisiana constitution.
Or you could bring back a previous GOP golden boy by the name of Jindal. I hear he is good at selling state assets instead of raising taxes.

Just about every government body in our state- City, Parish, State- government is run by a bunch of kleptomaniacs. It's really quite sad

The biggest problem Louisiana has is that the people in general are ignorant about what life is like elsewhere so they continue to vote for the status quo while the place sinks around them. Corruption and incompetence is explained away and justified and hey the food is good.
We moved last year from NO to Tennessee. Between no income tax, lower property taxes, and lower insurance rates we’re saving close to $15k per year and our roads don’t look like we live in Mogadishu, my kids can actually attend public school without getting shot and or underserved, and there are high paying jobs for the taking. What does Louisiana offer that is worth anywhere close to 15k per year? For that I can get gumbo and king cake flown in and still have 14.5k in the bank. Why would a company relocate to the state and struggle to fill jobs when they can go somewhere that won’t shake them down and employees WANT to live there?

Missed another $20 billion facility, to go along with multiple other missed business developments over the years, but if you were advertising Louisiana to companies with $20 billion projects, what would be your top 5 sell pitch items?
These companies can obviously locate anywhere they want to, so competition for these companies facilities is very intense, based on Louisiana’s political, cultural, environmental and natural resource background, what does it have to offer that would entice a technological facility to locate here.
The state has to practically pay companies to come here and ends up having to sign away virtually all tax revenues from a large company locating in La., they have to offer everything including the kitchen sink to get companies to come. And unfortunately they often write in requirements that specify the companies have to hire a certain percentage of locals including certain percentages of ethnic and racial makeup requirements. So if the company tries to locate in Shreveport, Baton Rouge or New Orleans, those hiring guidelines require the company to hire staff that reflects the local area demographics so almost 60% minority hiring would be required in any of Louisiana’s major cities.
If you were CEO of a company that was about to build a $20 billion semiconductor facility in Louisiana, how would you like having to try to sort through Louisiana’s welfare programs and all the undereducated applicants that 55-60% minority hiring would present, trying to find intelligent, hard working, self motivated, driven and productive workers. Hell it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Even Bossier City, which is one of the best towns in North Louisiana to live and work in and home to Barksdale Airforce Base, has lost multiple opportunities to draw government based contractor type jobs and high paying technological facilities because the area can’t supply enough qualified job applicants to keep the facilities staffed.

Not sure where you're getting this from. Events have been cancelled and rules put in place but there's been no statewide shut downs since 2020.
Thanks, bye

So Jindal wasn’t conservative enough for you? Install Donald Trump as governor and it would never change. Population won’t suddenly learn how to read or not be fat uninsured slobs driving on shitty infrastructure.
