Great more one time money. People don't get that next year we will be in the same boat if we do not have any regular recurring revenue.

Nah, I think we'll be ok. We just love to get drunk and eat and we're so nice to people, so we are the best state...

Damage is already done. LSU's image is already ruined because of all the sky is falling bankruptcy talk.

Well they did cut the film tax credit. I'm glad they did that. I can't see how the offset of "jobs" it created outweighed the massive tak breaks people got.

You mean "sky is falling talk" like this?

Did they really?

That brought tons of positive attention to the state in addition to jobs. All those wealthy movie studio employees spend tons of money too.

they cut them back. it was a free for all. There is no way the attention and temp jobs those movies brought in was anywhere near what was going out the door in tax credits.

Robbing LIGA to pay Paul. What a joke. Now wait until an insurance company goes defunct and the state cannot go in and help on those claims. These frickers would raid their grandma's cookie jar.

Nah, the only possible way for the State to generate revenue of an industry is to bleed it out with tax money. Nothing good has ever come from tax incentivizing industries to operate in a certain location.

I can think of an easy way to fix this but most people will complain bc they are un-American

Those insurance companies don't want those monies back, they already took credits out on their taxes, and it is a surplus :/

The reputation hasn't changed.

You'd be surprised at how few people know/care about this story.

That sucks. I was hoping to put in a bid for LSU at the bankruptcy auction.

They did not cut the film tax credit. They put an absurdly high $200 million cap on it which is very rare for any movie to hit. This surplus has ZERO to do with that cap, just so everyone is clear.
