Take the 2 kids who died in a car accident. The doctor when interviewed and asked why they were considered covid deaths, the doctor said it was possible that the driver might have had covid and the symptoms caused the accident.

If you look at CDC data, there are about 8600 covid deaths listed as accident and poisoning.

So they’re not reporting tomorrow because of the holiday, while simultaneously saying that we shouldn’t celebrate said holiday. So, why doesn’t the state just take the lead and report through Thanksgiving having their employees work the whole time, and then give state employees a 4 day weekend in February once a few doses of the vaccine get out instead?

how far back are they going, if an 96 year old has Covid, recovers & passes a month later from natural causes based on LDH it will be a Covid death

Pow pow had covid, hospitalized for a month, tested negative every day for a month. They refused to let anyone see him during that time and wouldn't let him go home because he wouldn't do breathing treatments. He literally told us on the phone he was ready to go and was giving up because he was lonesome. Covid listed on death certificate. Tested negative for a month straight.

I didn't think this warranted its own thread but I have to ask this....somebody I know took a rapid COVID test today and got charged $300 as the cash price because he was told insurance didn't cover it. He paid the price because he had a cough and sinus issues and wanted to be sure he was good for Thanksgiving.

My question here is how in the hell are people being charged $300 for this rapid test with all the money that the federal government has been throwing around.....did he get okie doked?

Wife got tested last weekend. Took a rapid test. Wasn’t covered by insurance but it was $55, not $300.

What type of facility? Was it one of those after hours care places? I think that is where he went.

Most urgent cares are doing rapid covid tests for $50-100

Did he get tested for other things? Like additional swaps?

Maybe that would add up to $300. I don’t know. Just hoping people are getting ripped at urgent care places.

Not that I'm aware of.....I mean hell he has insurance and I just reread some of the CARES Act and it states specifically that private insurance will cover the tests at no cost....I don't know what the hell is going on.

ETA What I do know is that more than a few people are getting fricking rich off of COVID.

My kid got sent home from school last week because a friend that he sits near daily tested positive. I convinced my wife that our kid and her and I weren't getting tested unless we showed symptoms as we had no reason to add to the numbers. 6 days in and all is looking well.

He can't go back to school anyway until next week and we have no reason to get tested.

Same thing happened to my kid almost exactly 2 weeks before the start of the Thanksgiving break. She had to quarantine for 2 weeks which will be 3.5 weeks due to the holiday. She still has to have a negative test to return to school. Makes no sense.
