This is bullshite. They aren’t addressing a change in testing and how tests are reported, just blind numbers. frick the Louisiana government and all governments.

On August 23rd, when we were about to move to Phase 3, we had 18 deaths. Today we have 15. We had 7.2% positivity and today we have 7.4%. 939 hospitalizations compared to 929 today. 152 vents and 88 today.

Why are we moving back to Phase 2 again?

how does any of this change hospitalization? I’m all for rolling along. But to deny everything is an odd take

Hospitalization increase is due to remdesivir being released for wide use

People over a certain age or health status are admitted to get the infusion

Probable cases are back in the daily totals, so I included Tuesdays numbers so that a true comparison can be made. There are 2,244 more active cases today than Tuesday. 2,067 of the 2,073 cases are within the last 14 days.

Personal anecdote time. I have a 60 year old relative in Jefferson parish who got sick. Last Wednesday his breathing became labored so he went to the hospital. They admitted him, and placed him in ICU. He got remdesivir, and was ultimately released on Sunday. He's home now, recovering and doing much better, still missing taste/smell but all other symptoms almost gone

If this is the bulk of hospitalizations happening now, seems like those numbers will come down almost as quick as they go up if everybody is just in for a few days

The ratio of reg floor bed hospitalizations vs icu this time is skewed far far towards regular floor beds. At least in our system. Prob a 15:1 ratio right now. They just arent as sick in general
