I have a question. If someone is sick enough to die from this, my assumption would be that they would be in a hospital, right? And if that is right, shouldn't the decrease in hospital patients at least match the number of deaths? Or did 12 people die from this that weren't in the hospital?

Ehh - at one point we had over 2K hospitalized and 571 on vents. That’s not nothing.
I agree some politicians have used it as a power grab but it has been a legitimate medical event.

A death that happened last week may not have been confirmed as SAR-CoV-2 until yesterday/today.
All these data need to be date corrected to show the true picture.
Also, people likely go on ventilators too at the same time people come off, for whatever reason.

Uhhh yeah, especially if this is the data they are using to determine what phase we belong in. So what looks like a spike in deaths is likely not a spike at all?

Two things:
1. Deaths and hospitalizations aren't necessarily being reported from the previous 24 hours. From my 3 months of reviewing the data, it appears that a number of coroners don't report daily death totals to LDH and will report everything from Friday-Sunday/Monday on Monday afternoon...giving us the "tuesday bump"
2. We're also seeing nearly every person who passes away tested postmortem for the 'rona. So there will be cases of, say, a cancer patient in hospice that has also contracted COVID-19.

Well, you probably have some new hospital patients each day, plus deaths in hospice care facilities or nursing homes.
