Do you know when the numbers for your facility were reported?
Saw somewhere else that speculation for the increased numbers today was from the baseline testing done at those facilities. Also matches up with the reduction in community spread.

They are NOT counting duplicates. They stopped doing this weeks ago and reduced the previous case counts but people here will still state it as a fact. Don't take my word for it... read it on the LDH site.

So yes, some will slip through the cracks but they are trying to keep the numbers accurate. It won't stop people here from repeating the lie that someone testing positive 3 times counts as three different cases.

They’re not reported yet. We tested late last week and still haven’t begun to receive results. But yes, LDH is making a strong push to test and re-test clusters. You’re seeing a lot of long-term cate facility tests in these numbers. A LOT.

Like today.
The spreadsheet posted on the 1st page is off by more than 100 cases since duplicates were removed.
Same was true for yesterday.

There was the June 30th deadline for all longterm care facilities to be tested. So it looked like some of those might have been coming in under the wire.

I’m under the impression they weren’t going to make that mark. Regardless, just about every facility in LCH that was 100% clear began to have cases upon Phase 2 and had to begin retesting. Those facilities will retest on weekly or biweekly recurrence until clear for 14 consecutive days.

4.2% increase in the number of tests is good news.
Looks to me like we have @22,000 active cases in Louisiana. Not bad in a state of 4mm

Well I've known him all my life, he's an ex-sheriff and is now the director of homeland security....I really have no reason not to believe him...but I guess he could just be lying to his community for whatever reason

A link to where the quote comes from would be helpful. Context as to when this was said and who said it would be important. Because if they're counting like this, they are doing it wrong and should be corrected by LDH.

With 35 deaths as of Friday, St. Mary Parish Homeland Security and Office of Emergency Preparedness Director David Naquin explained the process his office engages tracking the virus locally.
“We get the names of the people who test positive,” Naquin said. “I can tell you for a fact today (Friday) … these are tests that were run that were negatives, but the positives were Chinaberry Street (in Franklin). That’s the nursing home. This goes back to May 27.”
St. Mary Parish cases from June 1 numbered 45 in 17 days. “Two a day,” Naquin said. “This group isn’t backlogs. The backlogs (will be released) either Friday or Saturday, when nobody reports it, until they see the numbers and they go crazy on a Monday morning.”
There was an initial scare when total Louisiana tests showed some 400 new positives over two days each, and more accruing. “But what good does it do to dump test results from two months ago?” Naquin said. “The person’s either dead or has recovered. So correct the problem, but don’t put the numbers in because it makes it look like we’ve got a spike going on, and that’s what happened.
“They called it a ‘dump,’” he said. “They realized they made an error in not reporting. So they released them all, boom, with no explanation, nothing.”
Naquin stressed that there are new cases, two on Wednesday, in Berwick and Morgan City. “We have a pretty good idea that when we get them like that, that’s not a dump. What we tried to get them (Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals) to give us the date of the test, because it helps us a lot.
“The two prior out-of-parish hospitals, a person had been there for 30 days and passed away,” he continued. “But because they lived in St. Mary, it’s one of our cases.”
