For AZ they count one case as one person positive for COVID. That person can have 10 positive tests....only counts as ONE case.
I’m listening to the weekly call from my county that updates hospitals with all the state updates. This was one of the first questions asked.

yes..there is no way to keep track of every person that takes multiple test and test positive more than once.
Let say you went to Urgent Care on Magazine St take a test on Monday and on Friday you get your positive test result...that's 1 positive test...
Then you wait a few days and go to West Jeff and take a Rapid test and get your results in 30 minutes and test positive again...that's 2 positive test...
Then you wait another week and take another test and test negative because you want to go back to work...but your employer requires you to have 2 negative test before you're allowed back to work.....
One person..has tested positive twice and negative twice....4 test....1 person.
thats why these numbers are bullshite

It has been repeated several times in press conferences that 1 individual counts as one positive.
That is why you see cases removed like today.

I posted a link to a directer of homeland security for one of the parishes in the state explaining how it works....especially in nursing homes where they have the residents separated COVID and non COVID and to be able to move into the non COVID section they would test the residents multiple times and every time one person would test positive, they were counted twice, three times or how ever many times they were positive.

Im just really curious how you think these tests are reported.
Do you think someone calls in and just gives a number for how many positive tests that had that day? 'Yeah, we got 50 positives'
Or do you think they have to send in the accompanying paperwork?

not sure..we got a call from the LDH a few hours after we got my daughters results. Then within hours we went somewhere else and was going to take a rapid test but decided not to but we could have if we wanted...and that would have counted as 2 positive if she would have and the second test was positive.

For our lab at my hospital....they run a report and send it securely to our main electronic AZ state reporting system. Same system I am mandated to report all kinds of communicable diseases (I mostly report STDs) with. The report has all the patient information as well (name, address, DOB, etc).

Not necessarily. In my facility, for instance, mass testing required a unique identifier. For this round, employee IDs were used for staff and room numbers for residents. Medicare numbers were required for residents, but more for billing than for identifiers.
