Hospitalizations and ventilations have been trending positively for about a week. I think due to being 2 weeks since school and restaurant closures. Now we are 2 weeks from nonessential business closing, we will see another dip. Since Walmart is inacting social distancing now, in 2 more weeks numbers will be real low.
I also think this is a result of the wider usage of Trump pills.

Judging from the comments on the LDH Facebook page, people are losing their patience with the reporting being all over the place. If a reasonable trend, good or bad, doesn't show up this week people are going to start calling serious bs on the shutdown.

Day 12 no results...talked with Ochsner and they are saying they are still heavily backlogged. She told me most aren’t getting results back for 14 days....I am over it

Have an ulcer lol but no not sick with whatever I had. My boy (asthmatic) still coughs every now and then but is better as well. It’s a joke....not a funny one

The good news is that for the last few days, we have been trending deaths at the low end of the projected range. It will be interesting see what the new model looks like when the update data today.
Last update was 04/01. Death prjections since then versus actual deaths:
04/02 - 39-62 deaths - actual deaths 37
04/03 - 39-71 deaths - actual deaths 60
04/04 - 37-80 deaths - actual deaths 39

That is insane. So there are a solid group of these numbers where the patient is either symptomatically recovered, or already passed away by the time the results are received.
Also, if they are using data from 2 weeks ago as "today's figures" in the model; wouldn't that drastically inflate the figures going forward. Hence the low end death, hospital & vent results?

Depends on the urgency. If you go to a BR ER, they can send it to the state lab and get the results back within 24hrs. If it gets picked up early, within 12hrs is a possibility.

Ochnser has 1-hour turnaround times now for high priority cases.
I wonder if yours got sent to the state lab? If so, it won't get done for a while

Yes. See these numbers honestly are just FUBAR due to that horrible backlog. They have even started having a nurse call and check on me as if I was sick. This started Tuesday or Wednesday (days running together now) this past week.
That’s supposed to be IF you are sick. They are treating me as if I was sick without a test result and I have been feeling better for a week at least. The poor nurse on the phone today sounded as if her mind was blown by the backlog. It’s a freaking nightmare.

I did get sent there, but they couldn’t even tell me that on the phone last week when I asked. I assume that’s the case. I was the first test during the 3 - 7 shift in Mandeville drive through on March 23

That's crazy. They really need to hurry up with those fifteen minute tests.

For severe cases they are getting results back within a day.
It is the drive though locations that aren't getting results.
Jaime Howard said he is still waiting on his results from the drive through. He went to the hospital and got a positive result back in a day or so.
A bunch of the back logged positives got tested a second time at the hospital. Many of the cases are counting 2 positives for the same person.

Vents updated to 571 - 36 more than yesterday.
Hospitalizations to 1726 - 19 more than yesterday.
INcreases in hospitalizations was less than the three prior days.

The nurse today did tell me that most even ALOT that are hospitalized are basically presenting as a flu case. I guess she was trying to say while it’s horrible it’s not all doom and gloom and a lot hospitalized are going to be fine and not intubated and recovering
