A quick google search shows it’s literally double what you claim

14000 hospitalizations
1400 deaths

Last year

Vents only going down because doctors discovered vents doing more damage than good in the covid fight so only those with one foot in the grave are getting on life support with a vent.

Either way the whole vent shortage crisis was bogus. Didn't stop Trump from giving a 500MM contract to GM to crank out vents when no one needs them.

Lots of people getting paid cash money with these emergency govt contracts. How much was handed out for that tent hospital in the Morial convention center with just 23 patients? 110MM.

Hospitalizations down two days in a row is a great sign. Vents going down a lot of days recently is excellent too.

If I’m not mistaken, some of the reduction in vent numbers is due to the fact that fewer people are being put on them because the growing consensus is that they don’t do much good for Corona. Which, just knowing that ...is good news if it pushes better, more effective therapies.

My grandad died last night in his sleep due to Covid-19. He was 95 so once he was diagnosed we knew it was coming. Lived a good life and Ocshner let his wife be in the room with him holding hands as he passed since she has it too.

I’m sorry to hear about your grandad but really glad his wife was able to be with him at the end. 95 is an epic run in this world!

20 year average in the CDC wonder year database for Louisiana is 877. (1999-2018).

Database

Also...that's a 'fun' database to waste an afternoon in.

Sorry for your loss. I am happy to hear that he had his wife by his side which had to have made it a little easier on him.

Is LA cooking the books. TX and FL combine for a population of 50mil. 10x that of LA, while FL and TX combine for less than 1K deaths.

Gotcha.
Good to know.

I had no idea measles so contagious.
Anti vaxers seem a little scarier now.

So does this mean we are 2 weeks behind Italy, or 3 weeks?

Texting my n.o friend, she said she read yesterday less than 100 patients at the N.O convention center.
