The numbers are trending well. However, we are going to need everyone to stay in their homes and not come outside for any reason until 2021 or until all numbers are zero.

I'll go ahead and write his presser for him... "Today's numbers might look better than yesterday, but yesterday's numbers were overly inflated by the weekend backlog, so today's numbers are actually worse than what we have been seeing. For that reason, we must remain at home, remain vigilant, and maybe by July we can start to reopen some businesses as we continue to strive for a vaccine."

This never gets talked about. Doesn't fit the narrative. It is a large number. This is why the number of "confirmed cases" is a meaningless stat. It is hospitalizations that matter.

We have several positives on an isolation wing .. more tests pending. One is done with meds and holding her own. Found one source that says that there are 276 nursing homes in Louisiana.

The county I live in releases that number.
We've had 172 positive cases. Currently 136 have recovered enough to be "released from isolation." 32 active cases, with 21 of them being hospitalized and 11 quarantined at home. 4 deaths.
Also, roughly the same population as EBR and a similar urban/suburban consistency.

This is what people aren't getting. This extended stay at home idea will go down in history as the biggest folly/mistake in the last 50 years. I agreed that a couple of week stand down was appropriate to ensure that the medical system wouldn't be overwhelmed. Once it was clear that wasn't going to happen, we should have been transitioning back to normal life (with certain modifications/closures to mitigate the risk).
