Ascension is going to try to put 23 kids in a classroom. I give this about three weeks tops. The first kid will get sick and social media will do the rest.

we would have pulled her out this year but with COVID we're just going to let her do virtual learning and save the tuition money

Friends of mine are doing this $500 a month for 3-5th grade students. Two of them currently have 22 kids signed up. 22 kids at 500 a month is more money than they currently make teaching. Even split two ways they will make more.

Has anyone spoken out in support of opening schools?
Or are all those people at work?

The ones at the meeting are teachers who are off for the summer and want to continue being off.

Also, it's hard to hear someone talking through a mask.
This is a valid concern for parents with children who have a hearing loss, and has to be rectified in some manner due to ADA

Ascension has already sent out what they are doing....
Desk 4ft apart for students
Teachers are removing furniture in the classroom to make this work
Hybrid learning, so they're offering online and in person
Recording teachers teaching for live stream format and to be recorded to watch for later

Going to be interested to see the infection rates between the high school kids who choose in school learning vs online
I imagine the online kids get infected more. Because when parents are at work, they will be driving around going out to places and friends houses with no rules etc etc while those in school are actually monitored
But that’s too much common sense for the govt
