No waze I would trust this app for driving.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've read in a while

Finding new waze to be outraged.

Shouldn't they be worried about the hordes of illegals that are taking over their city and draining their remaining resources?

California is on its way to start going to even further extremes to collect money from citizens and businesses. They are absolutely hemorrhaging money and losing their middle class to states that have lower taxes and living expenses.

You could say the exact same thing about Louisiana.

surplus last year, sorry to call you out on the facts you just made up

California’s debt for retiree health care nears $92 billion
I'm sure after they deposit 13 of the 19 billion dollars surplus they have in the rainy day fund, they'll be able to make that 6 billion stretch to cover those costs. Budget deficits and surpluses are one thing, but California owes more than that.

Sorry you don't know what you're talking about.

“Yes, the state’s budget is balanced if you are looking at what they are required to spend cash on this year, but not when you look at their expenses,” said Gabe Petek, a credit analyst with Standard & Poor’s.

“These liabilities are so massive that it is tempting to ignore them,” Gov. Jerry Brown said last month in his State of the State speech. “We can’t possibly pay them off in a year or two or even 10."

the solution --which is being done in some NYC burbs -- is to require resident tags or you get a big assed ticket.
Waze has turned my once-quiet Atlanta neighborhood into a cut-through from Emory (and its hospitals) and the CDC, to SE Decatur. Fortunately, we live on a cul de sac, so it isn't on our street, but it's three doors down at an intersection that once had barely any traffic.
i don't see how you could sue waze, but certainly some new traffic rules can be implemented. the streets in my hood are narrow and are in no way designed for high-volume/through traffic.

Houston's answer was to block off entrances to certain neighborhoods. Make them one way in, one way out. Now, the neighborhood was no longer a short cut. Also, I've seen them put speed bumps and 20mph speed limits with plenty of cops patrolling and speed cameras. This also makes the short cut not as fast given the slow speed you have to travel.
All in all, I like Waze and I use Waze. City planners simply need to not be so lazy. Don't just sit and bitch about technology, engineer around it.

a-hole that wrote that story needs to learn that LA means Louisiana. L.A. means LosAngeles. Those left coast freaks need to quit co opting our letters.

That is just a one-year budget surplus. While that’s a marked improvement over a typical year in California, their overall debt (not even including their unfunded liabilities) is still nearly half a trillion dollars.

Nothing some traffic calming elements couldn’t help. A few speed cushions (not humps) could remedy things a bit. The faster you go, the harder it rocks you.

You know, the only 2 cities complaining about Waze are the two most poorly designed cities in the country. Sorry the men who designed the roads in your cities are a bunch of retards.
