when I was a kid, Twinkies and Ding dongs had cards on the box that you could cut out. Are things like these sought after? Or just certain brands of cards?

Some panel cards are sought after... but it's mainly the really old ones. Anything from the 60s/70s is probably going to sell for $5 or less depending on condition. If someone is trying to build a set of high grade examples you might get a little more.

I don't keep up with it like I used to... but due to the fact that everything I'm interested in is around 100 years old it doesn't really change much.

yeah. he's converted my old bedroom into a giant card room. i remember having to video him opening packs when i was younger has so many unopened packs and my impatience kills me

he said if this guy is legit, he will drive/fly to wherever he is, give him an informal grading and estimation of value, and put him in touch with people that can sell. he really wants to see it if it's real.

I want to see his collection in person as well. Judging from the photos I've seen so far, I don't see any of the obvious signs of reproductions. Everything looks legit.

He sent me a photo of a T216 Kotton Honus Wagner and Eddie Plank... that might not mean much to you but your dad will get excited trust me.

I am interested. My son replied to your posting yesterday. I collect mostly '40s-'60's.

Anyone who wants to see them is welcome.

On another note, my wife found out about the car thing. May not sell for a car but use it to build my pool and outdoor kitchen/ mancave. May have to keep them a little longer.

Selling something that will only increase in value over time for something that is guaranteed to decrease in value over time? Wise choice.

This guy nailed it.
Also, I don't know how old you are but from someone who grew up in the 50s and 60s you have a quite a collection there. If it is what you say it is I would not mess around with local folks. Contact a national dealer so you are assured of getting top $$$$s.

She found out and didn't want the car? Or she found and you changed your mind about getting it for her?

What kind of car does she want?

The pool and house upgrades would probably be a better 'investment' I guess, as the car would have depreciated quickly. At least with the house you wouldn't lose as much.

[in before comments about how a pool makes. House worth less]

She wanted a Cadillac Escalade. She went back to school when our twin daughters were 2. She is a strong woman and I wanted to show how i feel. She found out about me buying her a vehicle and was totally aginst it. She would rather do the pool outdoor kitchen mancave thing where we all enjoy it. I just sold my business and am taking money to start building our new home. I have a great job and so does she so she will still get a new vehicle just not her dream.

I found some old Delong and Allen and ginter in a old house about 15 years ago. I've never had anybody check them out. They are in such good shape I just assumed they were reprints. I'm gonna try and post a couple pictures and y'all tell me what y'all think.

What a cool thread.

Shoelessjoe, please post more and take the offer to get them graded.

Terd, yours are cool as hell too. Can you show more of those WWI cards? That's really awesome.

Net54 or Ebay would be the best places to sell to maximize your profit on the vintage stuff... but you'd need to sell them off over time. If you're looking to dump them all at once you're going to lose out.

Why lose for selling all at once?

I collect Ted Williams 39-60. They range in condition, but are above poor. I only lack 5 cards. I would be interested in the Williams cards you have.

I have the rarest. It's a Wilson Weiners '54. They came frozen and when thawed would ruin the card, so there's not many. I lucked upon the one that I have.

My dad has a few older ones he plans to give me. My oldest one dates to the 1970's but he has a few from the 40's, 50's, and 60's

I have a bunch of 1965 Bazooka boxes similar to pictured above. Two of them have the Clemente card (like above). I've seen a wide range of asking prices for these online. Do you have a good estimate of their worth?
