Looking to add concrete pad for extra parking

Anyone know what it would cost to add a single parking spot off a driveway for additional parking?
Posted on 9/18/17 at 9:43 pm to das Fassbender
2.75 to 4.50 a square foot

How big are you looking to go?
10 by 15?

Better off waiting on day crew for this info.

Your best bet is to find a crew that is putting in a slab nearby and ask them to come and frame up and pour your parking spot. Running a truck and crew for a job that small will be expensive.

Have you considered gravel parking ?

Truck alone is usually at least $650.

$1500 - $3000 depending on how much you can do for yourself. Minimum is two yards of concrete for the truck to come out. Plus you need to prepare the site. You might need fill dirt to go underneath your concrete as well. You can save if you know someone around you who needs concrete work as well.

This sounds close. I added 200 square feet for $900.

It depends on the dimensions and slab thickness. You'd probably want to go 6", though you might be able to get by with less, depending on your soil type for your subgrade. Concrete will probably cost $100-150 per y³. If you're in a folder area, you might way to pay for air entrainment. 4-8% is standard pccp spec. If you get hard freezes, it's worth a few extra dollars a yard.
If you went 10x15 @ 6", you're looking at 2.77 yards, though you'd probably have to order a minimum of 3. With a 3000 PSI, non air entrained, you can probably find it at $100/y³.
You also want to be sure they use curing compound, which will cost extra. Specs on dot jobs very from 100-125ft² of coverage per gallon.
Some people will also use welded wire mats/mesh for crack prevention. 90% of the time, it's not installed correctly, or is smudged on the bottom by the finishers. I prefer fibermesh. It's a little hairy looking at finishing. But it'll wear away with use.
Hopefully you're on solid soils. Otherwise, you might need some coarse aggregate to firm up your subgrade.

That sounds very cheap. How thick is it? Was it for a driveway? Because I don't know where you can find concrete that cheap to pour it a proper thickness. You could try to go 4", like a sidewalk. But you better have really good soils.

10x15x6" is less than 3 cu yards...

Check your math, this should be less than 3 yards.
OP should be able to find a crew to form and finish this small job after hours for $3-4/foot plus materials. I paid $2 for a larger simple square slab, but I know they charge more on small jobs.

A cubic yard of concrete is about $100-150, get 3000 PSI with fiber.
To calculate how much you need. Length xs width xs .333 / 27 = cubic yards.
Roughly $2 a square ft to finish.
4" is thick enough unless you're parking a big truck on it.
