Looking like the masterminds behind the Whitmer Kidnapping plot may have been FBI agents

This isn't the only article out on this really weird story. Looks like most of the 'extremist group' were actually FBI informants.

At least 12 confidential FBI informants assisted the investigation into the extremist group accused of conspiring to kidnap the Democratic governor, according to the news outlet's report.
An examination of the case by BuzzFeed revealed that "some of those informants, acting under the direction of the FBI, played a far larger role than has previously been reported."

I seriously laughed at people that suggested that this was largely planned and orchestrated by the FBI.
Now it looks like they may have been right.

One need look no further than the FBI informant system in 70s-90s in the Northeast mafia/crime setting and can tell that they let their informants get away with murder...literally.

They infiltrated the group and then created the scheme via informant/plant that ultimately led to the group being taken down.
But-for the FBI intrusion, that group of idiots would never have done anything grandiose.

Listen to the podcast “chameleon”. The second season is about corrupt FBI agents using these same tactics. This is not an isolated case.

It looks like not only did they infiltrate it, they took significant roles in it and even went as far as to suggest and help plan the event.
