Looking for experience and information regarding Montessori school.

We have a newly 4 year old and an almost 10 month old. We have them both at a local daycare.
We have had some ups and downs with the day are throughout our son's 4 years and are no longer happy with it. We have been in contact with a local Montessori school and they have an opening for the boy.
Everything we have read about it seems too good to be true. Do any of you have/had kids in Montessori and would you recommend/discourage?

If you put your kid in a Montessori school, you will soon be bragging about their ability to pour water from a pitcher...
PS - I have many friends whose kids started in a Montessori school...the kids did fine.

we put both of ours in Montessori school for pre-k and they went before and after school during elementary years. Montessori usually has a lot better teacher/student ratio.

That beats him washing his hands in the drinking water pitcher.

All I know is the people I know who send their kids there are very happy.
I know this because they never fricking shut up about it.

Are they also cross-fitters, atheists, and vegans?

If the worst side effect is me coming off as a pretentious douche, I can live with that.

I went to one in Baton Rouge decades ago (the that was close to the LSU campus) when I was 4 and 5 years old and enjoyed it.

i'm sure they aren't all the same. but, the one our kids went to was a lot more disciplined than public schools. and they had a lot more one on one interaction with the kids.

Not about their kids, about the school and teachers.
It might be great, I’m not saying it’s not. But it’s like people going on Keto diets that can’t stop telling you about their Keto diet.

well, they're either going to brag about the school or bitch about it.

Do you remember the ratio?
Posted on 8/9/21 at 2:26 pm to Displaced
it was a fairly small school. at least compared to public schools. The kid/teacher ratio was maybe 15/1

Our kids did Montessori. I hated it and pulled them out. Very liberal crowd. Overall, the kids didn't learn much and I thought it was a waste of time. Amongst other issues:
1. My son wet his pants and they put him in pink girls leggings.
2. They wouldn't allow any superhero shirts because it "made the boys aggressive".
3. The school rented the basement of a church and had the church remove crosses from the playground so the children wouldn't have to look at them.

My son went to a Montessori school until kindergarten. I think it was excellent.

Both of mine went. My oldest cured cancer at 13 but I told her that there is no money in the cure, only treatment.
My other solved Fermat's Last Theorem by 12 but I told her that winning 14U national championship is more impressive.
In all seriousness, I'm glad I put them in it. I think it gave them a good head start.

If my kids were old enough they would be in a Montessori school right now. Went and toured it and absolutely loved it. Trying to get out of daycare ASAP.
