Bill Harrison The Garage Gallery Point Clear, ALThis guy is really good and really inexpensive. I got a 4'x 4' Blue Crab painting for way less than $1000 Check out his gallery. Will usually deliver if you ask.

Don't know where you are. But Adam Sambola in Slidell is pretty good. As is Phil Galatas, especially on wildlife.

This may not be the style of work your wife likes, but, occasionally, I do some large scale pen and ink drawings. Here's a couple of examples (sorry for the poor quality images - they were taken with my iPhone):

Ryan Perrea hands down best I have ever seen. He would probably be reasonably priced too.

Spray paint artist that paints on reclaimed windows in Jackson Square.

You can see his stuff on Facebook at Jeremy Artwork Hebert. He charges about $200-$300 I think.
