It all depends on the trim. Sometimes rebates on XLTs are $4000 and a higher trim may be $1k making the higher trim truck REALLY expensive.

this is a Lariat 4x4 Ecoboost supercrew

Nice. You just called around or saw it advertised?

been looking for a few weeks...sent a few emails today and got this response...."We are doing about $8,000 off unless you have the owner loyalty which would be an extra 1,000 off. However, I won't lose a deal over price."
Now, I have to ask if that is 0% for 72 or what the finance options are

Not bad. I'm showing rebates of $2800 for a Lariat but $4750 for an XLT. You could probably get 11k off an XLT

Id be interested to know how it goes tomorrow.

11k off '16 lariat shouldn't be hard to do. May be able to get more off of XLT fairly easily.

How so? That's a big chunk of change off, almost 20% of msrp on a lariat 4x4.

Frick Ford. This is coming from someone that bought 5 new Fords. (Probe, Mustang GT, F150, F150, F150.
The next truck I buy is a Toyota.

Search ford forums. High volume dealers in La are knocking 10-11k off. My 2011 was 11k off and my 16 was 10.5k get them to compete against each other. It's really not that hard. The markup on the f series is ridiculous

offering $9k off MSRP.
That's not much at all. Don't pay attention to MSRP, go search for dealer invoice. That's not a perfect number either, but much better than MSRP.
There is probably a 35-40% markup on pickups from actual build cost, so 9% is a huge amount of profit you are giving them.
I got mine earlier this year about 25% off of the sticker, and they still made money off of me.

Yep I went to one today and told them what the one I'm going see tomorrow said and they told me they couldn't touch that discount.
I tried Lamarque but they are racking in on the people that flooded. They aren't cutting any deals right now.

Best place to find dealer invoice?

I will preface this by saying I have a 2011 Lariat and a 2016 XLT.
Not to me. The lariat has a few very nice additions such as full power seats in the front, XLT is a pain in the arse to get set and only partially power on the driver's side. Also, the Lariat bumps you to vented seats which are amazing.
There is still an alarmingly high rate of failure on them where I am at. I have friends that are Ford mechanics and they get a good bit of blown up Ecoboost motors. My dad has a 2013 Lariat with ecoboost and the new motor will officially cost you $12k, ask me how I know.
While a 2wd will be fine for most of your uses, 4wd is a great option for both snow and resale value. I would personally go 4wd but I use it also.
My 5.0s have gotten better gas milage than my dad's ecoboost. My 5.0s get roughly 14 with my toolboxes and 16 to 17 without them. I carry about 2k pounds of tools with me on my work truck and do a lot of towing (hence the 2 to 3 mpg difference). My dad gets about 14 on his truck with about 1k pounds of tools.
Not sure.

Do the addons with the Lariat trim justify the price spread versus the XLT trim?

Are there concerns about the EcoBoost engine versus the other types?

If i'm mostly using the truck for commuting and light towing, would I get by just fine with 2wd? I'm in the Midwest so even highway driving during the winter can be treacherous with snow.

Edmonds.com. However, you will need to use a zip code outside of LA. Apparently our lawmakers asked Edmonds not to show dealer invoice pricing and the obliged.
Edmonds also has the True Market Value which is supposedly the price you should expect to pay for a fair deal.
True Car is another site that gives good pricing references.

That's a solid arse truck. Long wheel base?
Yes.
It has the max tow package which is the only non-raptor Ford truck (apart from the Super Duty gas option) that has the 6.2.
I typically get 16 mpg on the hwy which I was pretty surprised with.
I've heard too many horror stories regarding the Ecoboost and still don't trust them which is why I avoided it.
I found it in Pearl white which made it even better. It's a great looking vehicle.
Only issue thus far is that it did endure a tornado that hit my house lol. Caused 11K in damage to the truck so I'm pretty much fricked if I ever try and sell it haha. Good thing I chose something I like!

I commute from BR to NO with a 2015 with the 5.0. I drive 73 with the cruise on. I'm averaging 22.4 mpg currently. I keep the mileage average posted on the speedo to keep me mindful of keeping my foot out of it. I felt like the Eco Boost was more gadgets to go wrong. Glad I made the choice of the 5.0.
