Some people in here are lying about their time frame. The thread is one day. Not multiple days.

Meridian, MS to Pittsburgh, PA = 894 miles
Jackson, MS to McHenry, IL = 794 miles
Meridian, MS to San Antonio, TX = 717 miles
Not that driving is all that difficult. Leave home at 3:00 am. Find Big Truck doing 80 mph. Set cruise control. Follow Big Truck at 80 mph. When he slows down you slow down. When he speeds up you speed up. Plug USB music stick into stereo. Listen to 17 hours of James Taylor. Talk to wife. Drink bottled water or Diet Dr. Pepper. Stop at McDonalds, Burger King, Subway, Taco Bell, whatever.
Stop somewhere to use bathroom and buy snickers bar and lottery ticket.
We make some trip like that once or twice a year. Roadside Hotel is a waste of time. Too hyped up to go to sleep right away and just as tired in morning as if I had driven all night.
However I like driving at night and my vehicle drives and rides really well. Best miles are night miles while playing old Michael Hedges music on stereo. If you don't know him, look him up on YouTube. Great late night driving music recorded by a Dead Man.
Want a long trip? Fly from Jackson to Lusaka Zambia or Sidney, Australia or Mumbai, India
