I spent about 100 days in the hospital at 13 due to a ruptured appendix. That was definitely longer.

Dammit. I wish I hadn't looked that up. I know that had to be terrible.

A couple weeks ago was the truly longest week of my life. From the night Rudy Gobert tested positive to the following wednesday/thursday, when schools started getting cancelled, absolutely crawled by

I’m honestly not miserable. Life hasn’t changed much for me.

I've spent a total of 3 years in Iraq. I've had weeks that feel longer than this.

It's been boring. We can't drop my son off anywhere, so it's hard to bang the wife

Not in the least. The hospital is slower. No pain in the arse visitors allowed, no activities or shite to rush to. We’ve been making awesome healthy dinners with all the extra time. Go home and go swimming with my kids every night and have a drink or two after I work out in the garage.

Outside of having to work with a few covid patients in the hospital it’s been relatively stress free.

I’m still working but with no school and no sports I’ve gotten more things done around the house in 2 weeks than I would have in 6 months.

Yeah, 15 days without power or clean water after Hugo in '89. This is much easier.

I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Spending more time at home with my wife and kids, which I care immensely more than my co-workers, supporting local businesses more = more beer and takeout. Right now, I'm relaxing on our back deck, drinking a Westbrook IPA, and listening to old Jazz Fest songs on YouTube.

So no, this hasn't been the longest couple of weeks in my entire life.

After Katrina.

ETA: Actually, when I was 17 my girlfriend was 3 weeks late. We used protection but still. I was on edge 24/7 for those 20 days.

We weren't impacted in BR much from Katrina from a weather standpoint but it was quite interesting around here for a few months. Grocery stores picked clean and the traffic. It was taking me over an hour to commute 5 miles to the office.

Better than losing everything you have though.
