It can work if you both are willing to travel say once a month.

Hope you like roadtrips.

Bham-Indy for over a year. Made it work and we're still together and living together now. It can be done but it sucks.

Currently in one but it's only a 3 hour drive. I am in Monroe so I am usually the one that ends up traveling

Get ready for some boring phone calls on week nights and a lot of long rides filled with podcast.

I see her on the weekends and we Skype/Netflix most nights. It's not easy but it could be a lot worse

Currently in one. It's hard at times and it sucks not seeing her every week. Fortunately my friends here help keep me busy and she has become really good friends with her coworker Joe.

I got through it.

Long story, but Abbeville - Dallas, been together for 14 years now. Married and expecting our first.

Would I suggest it these days? Hell no. Hoes are crazier now with more access to too much.

Anyone on the OT every pull that shite off?

Baton Rouge - Dallas.

Never stood a chance...

it depends what you are looking for. My uncle did it successfully. he had a GF who lived in Vancouver. Most weekends they would fly and meet somewhere, beach, skiing, mountains, whatever. GF eventually got tired of waiting, so she moved on. But in talking to my uncle, he loved it.

I had one in college that ended up causing nothing but heart ache and resent. We both really liked each other in the end, but it just got to be too much.

My brother had one in college that my parents kept hoping would run its course. It caused a lot of family drama, but he ended up moving to her location after he graduated and married after a year or so. Two years later her true colors came out, and they got divorced. So all of that long distance BS for nothing.

Having one in college is just stupid. Never going to work out. Much easier to manage when you aren't going to bogie's every Thursday

Been in one for almost 3 years. NELA-ATL. It's actually been the best time of my life, very easy if both people want it to work.

Both of you have to want it. If one wants it more than the other then it won't work.

OT Response: She's already cheating, bro.

I had about 3 while in college. It worked great and highly recommend. I got to see them only when I was in their town and occasionally they would come see me.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention they were all at the same time.

In one right now and this is my least favorite part about it.

I don't mind talking on the phone for 20-30 minutes but after that I start to zone out.

One of my friends who has been through it said that you you can do it as long as you have a plan for being together after 2 years. After that it's really hard.

As Mitch Hedberg said, "I don't have a girlfriend, but I do know a girl who would be really upset if she heard me say that".

Ive tried to have long distance relationships in the past, because I love my alone time and am really not that into chicks. I always enjoyed it, really low responsibility and expectations. Unfortunately the female always gets emotionally distraught or some shite. So now Im doing this whole "practically live at your SOs place" thing, and its working out a lot better, but Im kinda always exhausted.
