If you ever scratched up a PlayStation disc or fricked up an N64 cartridge, it was nice to know you could cop the game from Blockbuster and replace the rental with your fricked up copy

This Bud's for you Blockbuster

I can't count how much I spent on late fees.

It was an insane amount.

Haha well there is plenty of that here too - mostly weirdo truck stop type shops for that kind of stuff.

Hopefully those are not rent and return though.

I remember Hollywood

I preferred Hollywood Video over Blockbuster. I used to go every Friday.

The one I used to frequent is a Buffalo Wild Wings now. Sometimes when I eat there with people, I tell them that we are eating in the Comedy section or the New Releases. But, they don't think it is as cool as I think it is.

I'm pretty sure I got that in a bundle. In any event, I owned that game.

Blockbuster used to be shady AF with some of their summer promotional deals.

These threads remind me of those stupid Facebook posts where people brag about being older (which is ridiculous to me) via some stupid screenshot like this:

what most of you don't remember, is the first "tv on demand" involved the provider getting a request and sending a technician scurrying into the back room to insert the correct DVD into the system to broadcast.

It's what you get for a corporate store.

I always just thought their selection beyond new releases sucked

Franklin actually, but essentially yes. I do not know if these exist anywhere else to be honest.

ETA: Corporate website still shows a ton of them all over the US.
