Locking the door while doing the dirty

Anybody else have this issue: our 5 year old daughter’s bedroom is across the hall from ours. My wife doesnt want to lock our door when we are doing the deed. She thinks that if our daughter wakes up and comes to our room and the door is locked it will be obvious what we are doing. My argument is obviously that a locked bedroom door is much less obvious than seeing her mom riding reverse cowgirl on her dad’s dong.

Your wife always insists on locking the door when I'm over but I couldn't care less.

At 5 she’s suspecting you’re grunting on the toilet. Lock that door and save her from a life of PTSD.. In fact just leave it locked so she expects that as the norm. (I was never able to convince my wife on this one)

The 5 year has no clue you're having sex. Condition her now to locked a door before it becomes obvious.
By the time she knows you're having sex when the door is locked she will likely be old and mature enough it doesn't matter anyway. Don't let her walk in. It scared me for life when I walked in on my parents.

1. Your five year old will not interpret a locked door as sex
2. Your five year old probably won’t even interpret walking in on you having sex as sex
3. Your five year old will absolutely remember the event and piece it together once she gets older
4. She will then resent you both for her having that memory

Addendum: There’s no way your wife is this dense. My working theory is that, consciously or subconsciously, your wife hopes not allowing the door to be locked will reduce the rate of sexual activity. Sorry bro.

If it matters that much to you or her, start locking the door at random times when you aren’t having sex so the locked door doesn’t necessarily mean anything specific and your kid can start understanding boundaries.
