One thing I will say is that it seems a lot a the women won't post in any threads about a specific topic, which is disappointing as a female who would like to see that. Even some of the females known for being laid back and cool seem to do this. I can think of a lot of really cool non-attention-whoring female posters who won't go beyond the IM threads.

Believe it or not I come here to laugh and I make fun of myself including my age and sexuality as does many males do here. I think some females fear being labeled as an attention whore for posting in those threads.

Well they shouldn't be afraid of that. I'm sure it would be welcomed. The lack of participation in any thread beyond IM threads makes it look as though most of our female posters have no interests or hobbies or areas of knowledge. Which may not be the case.. It just boggles me how so few seem interested in anything beyond small talk in a lunch thread.
But hey, who am I to say? Maybe they just genuinely enjoy blowing off steam via IM threads on the Internet. Can't fault anyone for that.
