Website suggest ordering a size smaller than your normal size, as they run large...........

Can anyone confirm or deny?

TIA

Buy your size, put in decent aftermarket insoles.

I have some LL Bean duck boots and can confirm that they run way large. seems like I sent them back a time or two and settled on a half size smaller than I normally wear.

I'd order at least a half size smaller. They may still be too big, but if they are they'll let you return them for another size.

Order both sizes and return the ones that don't fit

Confirm. If you wear a half size they even suggest ordering a boot 1.5 sizes smaller.

Why they don’t just change their sizing, I don’t know.

Confirm. I bought the Bean boots with the Gore Tex. Ordered a size smaller and they fit perfect. I usually wear them with normal socks.

Funny you should post this, I actually just bought some last week. I’m normally an 11.5W or 12 in other shoes, and the LL Bean 11W with lighter socks are almost too loose and big. I’d go at least a size smaller if you plan to wear thin socks with them.

I'm surprised they aren't too big. My friend wears an 11.5 and 10 in beans. I wear 12 and 11 in beans.

I wear 11.5 running shoe and a 10 fits me in bean boots but I have these so the laces aren't much help so they have to fit pretty well.

You usually need to go one size smaller. I went one size smaller and put some better insoles in them and with a thicker sock they fit perfect.
