I’ve never lived there but my brother went to college there and I’ve been there tons of times

Nachitcohes is a nice, easy place to live. There are some decent restaurants but it sure ain’t Lafayette in that regard.

Get you a meat pie and chicken fried steak from Lasyones and you’ll be fine.

Kids soccer in Natchtoches is a great way to meet other people your age.

A house on the river or news Front St would be the way to go.

But let’s be honest, where in the state aside from New Orleans comes close to restaurants like Lafayette does?

For all the shite Ellick gets they do have some decent restaurants.

And a couple of solid bars. I’d go there before Shreveport any day of the week.

Back on topic, Natchitoches is a great little town. It’s got a fair bit of that Old South charm and Delta culture. Loads of history, reasonable CoL, decent schools. As someone else said: top 5 town in the state.

Pros:

1. You get to move out of Scott
2. You are closer to Toledo Bend
3. It is a cool little town
4. You are farther away form Opelousas

Cons:

1. Don't know anyone
2. You are closer to Alexandria

Sums it up nicely

I think it's a neat little town if you like small town life. Only thing is demographics are not great.

The only difference between Natchitrash people and S. La. people is, instead of a yat accent you'll have to endure a backwoods mush mouth drawl. Other than that, people are people (a PITA in other words).

Food wise? Yes. Everything else might be a little exaggerated. It’s not the best but it’s certainly in the upper ranks of cities in the state.

I love Lafayette, but I did see the most stereotypical Lafayette thing Saturday at Rêve when a guy walked in with affliction jeans. The ones with the weird cross logos on the back pockets.

Yeah that’s definitely a thing here. I’m pretty sure most of those American fighter types are coming in from surrounding communities such as New Iberia, Abbeville, Erath etc.
