Watched planes taking off one late afternoon in Sydney from my hotel room with winds gusting around 40mph and was glad my flight was the next morning.
Remember landing in Tallahassee Fl once and caught a cross wind before touching down that swung the back of the plane around pretty hard.

I got my PPL years ago and and the on the test flight the tester made me land in a crosswind of probably 35 MPH and I just about ended up in a ditch on the side of the runway. But these guys are pros.

I've watched so many crosswind landings on YouTube. Those pilots are ballsy

We landed with ~40 mph winds in DC once. I think like 25% of the plane was vomiting. It was disgusting.

I once saw a show about Alaskan bush pilots and they were landing like this. I had no idea planes this large would do that.

Holy hell this video absolutely illustrates that pilots aren’t paid to fly when the weather is good

The video isn't 10 hours long.

This is so great. Brits can make anything sound good and/or proper.

I'm puckering a bit watching this.

It was live streamed.

The one that decided to go around when he was ten feet off the ground halfway down the runway was interesting.

I think he meant the one that tried to land at 10:16 Local Time as displayed in the time stamp at the bottom of the screen. About 1 hr 14 m into the stream.

Question for the pilots in here, are these landings entirely by hand in these conditions, or do they still have computer guidance? Pretty wild to watch planes that large come in at those angles.
