McDermitt Caldera in Oregon is attracting attention for what could be one of the largest lithium deposits ever identified in the United States. Many view it as a potential boost for domestic battery production, while local communities voice concern over the impact on wildlife and cultural sites.
The excitement stems from estimates that value the deposit at about $1.5 trillion. Some geologists say these ancient volcanic sediments could contain between 20 and 40 million metric tons of lithium.

This thread reminds me. There is a penny stock called Stardust Power SDST.
I bought it as soon as the market opened today at $0.38 a share.

Stardust Power is developing a lithium refinery in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to produce battery-grade lithium for electric vehicles and energy storage. The company aims to contribute to U.S. energy independence and sustainability with its diversified supply of lithium from American brine sources.

Hopefully the price of those AA batteries will finally go down.

There is plenty of lithium in CONUS. There's a big site in the SW, and lithium brine aplenty in Arkansas. The problem is that the mining and refinement stages are environmentally nasty. Click here for pics of lithium mining and EU's guilt trip over it.

I want green energy to save the planet but I want third countries primarily populated by brown people to feel the environmental impact of making batteries

Can’t wait for Lithium Rush on Discovery channel

Are they gonna use it to make real batteries like drills or are they gonna use it to make woke batteries?

But they do want the batteries. Quite the conundrum.

They think batteries, like everything else, are made from rainbows and unicorn farts.

They want it mined exclusively in third world countries by children and slave laborers.
Guys who mined it here would expect salary, benefits, health care, stuff like that.
9 year old Ndugu on the other hand will work all day for a stale piece of bread.
Leftists didn't end worker exploration, they outsourced it.
