Amazing talent but just a bit ironic that she only wrote four songs during her career.

Crazy to see this thread. I listened to Blue Bayou on drive home from work yesterday and was thinking that song is a clinic to showcase her range. No one talks about her much, but her voice was fantastic and her range was incredible.

Lady had a ton of talent, IMO one of the best singers of all time.

not her forte, Elvis once said he'd be broke if it were up to him to write the songs

Maybe so, but she's also got a pretty advanced case of Parkinson's Disease. She started noticing the difference in her voice in 2000 and hasn't sung publicly since 2009.

Great documentary on her... The Sound of My Voice

singers/musicians performing/recording their own music was largely spawned in the sixties, you think Three Dog Night wrote any of their songs?

ETA: I've had many a threesome with her, Stevie Nicks, and myself...

Blue Bayou is not her greatest song.

It’s Long, Long Time.

My favorite is her cover of Neil Young's "Look Out For My Love."

Neil's version is crap. She makes it special.

An old friend of mine, since passed on, said you'd love to go to bed with Stevie Nicks, but you'd rather wake up with Christine McVie.
Crazy factor, I guess.
