They still use matches and a fuse to ignite them. They only have the capacity to blow themselves up.

So, NSA can spy on Congress but can't wreck a nuke program encoded on floppy? Oh, and school lunches suck.

Tax money at work.

Thanks Obama. Why don't you cry some more.

He's got a rocket and guy he has landed on the sun, which is far more impressive then an H bomb.

'd be surprised if they have a true multi-stage weapon using dry fuel.

I agree. We swung and missed on thermonuclear a bunch before getting it right.

For those unfamiliar with it, check out this article on a classified material called "FOGBANK"

LINK

Speculation is that it is a foam substance that occupies the space between the primary and secondary elements of a thermonuclear bomb.

It is believed to change state to a plasma following primary detonation which then serves as both a delay and energy transfer mechanism and helps focus radiation pressure necessary to ablate the secondary device.

Doubt the North Koreans have some laying around.

But seriously: LSU has had a football game that registered as an Earthquake; I doubt this broke-arse despot really has an H bomb.

What the frick does a LSU earthquake have to do with the price of rice in North Korea?

It's been verified independently by seismic activity. You can fake a lot of things, but not a thermonuclear blast. He's got not just the bomb, he's got the big bomb. Now the question becomes, can he miniaturize it to where it can be mounted on a Missile?

Maybe. Someone who already has the technology will have to help them along though.

I guess.

NK will use this weapon (if it was actually a successful test and they can build another one) as a deterrent. They won't use it offensively. Their state news agency even said this.

Oh yeah I remember when Bush let him have it. The good ole days.

That's not exactly what happened - Clinton negotiated the deal with his father (the same deal and the same team - for the most part, as Iran just got) and when they tested the bomb during the Bush administration, nobody really did anything about it.

But, this is rightly in the lap of one William Jefferson Clinton. Just as when Iran develops a weapon, it will be on Barack Hussein Obama.

I'd say the real risk of anything thing coming from this would be one of two things

1. Then selling it to some terrorist organization

Or

2. Sometime down the road the regime on the verge of collapse lashes out at the south and obliterates Seoul.

Either is doubtful though. More than likely this h-bomb will sit and rust.
