As I read this I ponder what in the hell were the circumstances of that weekend 10 years that was worse than this one. I would have thought numbers like this were some kind of record.

They are why it is the way it is. They allowed it to get where it's at now. They elected and then re-elected what's leading their beloved city. Keep holding on to that. It's mildly enjoyable to sit on the outside and watch it burn down. Enjoy the consequences of your decisions.

While simultaneously being the most parochial, clique-oriented city I've ever seen.

the early to mid 90's laugh at these numbers. NOLA has never been better.

But it doesn't though. It's ok for elements of one genre to influence another but jazz on it's own is just horrible and New Orleans style jazz is right up there with Free Jazz as the shittiest of jazz music.

Steely Dan is considered primarily a rock/pop band or at best a jazz/rock band.

If Steely Dan were a jazz band alone, you would've never heard of them and you would've never heard of them because jazz frickin' sucks.

If you like Steely Dan as you say you do, then you at least enjoy some jazz, which makes it weird that you are claiming that you hate jazz so much. You clearly do not think that it sucks as much as you think you do. Anyways, its all subjective, but your opinion on this does indeed suck.

Not a gun problem- a death culture problem involving a sizable population of feral individuals.
