i used to have this line above an article from a news paper years ago.

A guy was out fishing ,fell over board, got run over by the boat and the prop whacked his scrotum.

I thought shite! maybe my life isn't so bad?

I think the reason that there's so much unhappiness in the world is that many people have an inability to be grateful. I'm not wealthy by any stretch and never will be. And I lost my wife to cancer in March at the age of 47. Still, I have a job that pays my bills, a roof over my head, food in the fridge, and I'm in good health. I'm grateful for everything that I have.

Had a house in our neighborhood burn to the ground several years ago. Car caught fire in the garage. Always keep extinguishers in garage and kitchen.

Nobody was hurt.

Maybe, just hear me out here, maybe he isn't like you and doesn't run to the internet to virtue signal. Perhaps, instead, he decided to post the part about why we all need to take a second and be grateful rather than extol the virtues of something he just did.

I'm sure that is difficult for you to understand in your self-absorbed look at me world.

The OP was at 6:55 on a Sunday evening. I’d like to know wtf happened to cause the entire house to go up in flames when everyone in the house was presumably awake.

I’m guessing grease fire.

Heart breaking.

I wonder what caused it.

Been there. Not a fun place to be, but I can tell you, even in those shoes (or lack there of), I've never felt like we have more than ever before. The friends, community, our church, coworkers, the City, etc helped us maintain and build back.

Someone needs to start a food train for the family. Not having to worry about meals is a huge relief.

Prayers for that family.

I also hope you got off the computer and went across the street to help that family and not merely watch.

I think everyone could be a little more thankful, patient, understanding, and kind. The world would be a lot better place.

A house can be replaced. Family pictures, heirlooms, wedding dresses, etc. can be gone forever in a fire like that. BabyTac, you really are tying too hard to win the worst poster award this year.

Artfully written. We don’t get much of that around here.

I’m looking around my house now…would not want to piece all of this back together.
