I've seen parents using that Life 360 app, which lets you track wherever your kid goes they go via GPS, set up geo-fences to alert you when they go outside an area you set, let's you see how fast they drive, ect.

If anyone here uses this on your kid, why?? it's just downright invasive, part of being a teenager is learning to be independent and figuring out the world for yourself ... if you want your kids to trust and confide in you when they're having problems, this will only push them further away from you emotionally ... this encourages them to stay at home and not socialize with kids their age ... if you use this app, don't be shocked when they get to college and don't know how to make friends and function as an independent adult

I know people do it out of love for their kid but this isn't the way you should show it.

You are trying too hard. If a parent is paying the bill, then the parent can do whatever they damn well please on that phone.

well there was a recent thread with everyone talking about how growing up these days must suck with technology, and this definitely is only making it worse. if you want kids to be in public socializing and just being teenagers, then I don't see how you could endorse this.

Because I know the shite I did when I was a teenager. Almost every night I went out with friends was filled with stupid decisions. Many could have led to a not so good outcome. If I can influence the decision making process by putting an app on a phone, you’re fricking right I will.

Let me guess...you’re a teenager and your parents just installed this app on your phone!

You live and learn. How do we get any better at life or improve if we don’t make mistakes and stumble at times, regardless of age?

1am on a Saturday night? No doubt. Sorry Little Johnny’s parents didn’t put it on his phone and now he’s going to the after party with your crush, Clarke

No kids yet, but the world isn't as safe as it used to be.

We wouldn't need to use apps like that for our kids if we didn't have a President who wants to decriminalize pedophilia.

There’ll be enough mistakes to learn & grow from. The ones that can lead to an officer knocking on my door @2am don’t have to be part of them.
I lost 2 friends before I was 21 because of silly shite. It’s a miracle it wasn’t more. It’s even more if a miracle that I wasn’t one of them. When I left the house to go out, I always had intentions of going where I was supposed to...1st person to say “party is moving”, I was like “welp, gotta go where the party goes right? Might miss something. Can’t do that”

Cool. Then you wouldn’t have one, and you’d be left at home.

How so? I don’t think it’s a big deal. You’re a teenager going out with friends on a Saturday night? Cool, the app is there just in case something happens. It doesn’t have to be centered around “i need to know where u are at all times”

My son will be fine. But my daughter? Psssh, she’s already showing signs of being just like me. F that lol
