Pop your hood and get out like you're having car trouble.

As soon as they pull in to another parking spot, back out and make sure to give them a big, friendly wave as you drive away.

I just assume these people are looking at facebook or some other dumb shite on their phone. If its a big parking lot then no worries. If its a small one with limited spots then ill probably give your arse a little toot.

Had a guy pull the "let me sit here and check my phone" move last Friday AT THE GAS PUMP at a super busy (Costco) gas station AFTER he finished pumping his gas. There was a line of us waiting on the pump. Dude almost caught a beating from an angry mob.

I legitimately don't understand how the guy could be so self-absorbed as to pull that with a line of cars waiting on every pump.

Doing that shite at the gas pump is a totally different scenario.

I find what you were doing to be pretty annoying, but I wouldn't honk or anything unless you were taken up space in a crowded lot for an inordinate amount of time.

If I notice as I get in the car that someone is waiting on my spot I will typically back out and move away to the back of the parking lot and take care of all my work stuff from there before I get on the road.

If you honk at me though I am gonna be a while.

While most of the time they are probably playing on their phone, you never know if they are taking care of some medical need (think diabetic).

frick that. When they were honking, you should have went back into the store just to prove a point. They were assuming you were about to leave.

People will ride around the parking lot for 20 mins in order to get a closer parking spot. I don't understand it. Is it really that big of a deal to get a spot as close as possible?

How about the folks who pull into a Sam's club parking lot, park fairly close to the door, and then don't go in. Ever. Leave their engine running for air conditioning. Talk on their phone. Etc.

This happens when we go to Sam's and it's Mr. Turf's turn to go in. Worst one, so far, was a nice spring day, I had the windows down, itch in an Escalade pulls in beside me, leaves car running so she can have air cooled two degrees cooler than ambient temperature. And after twenty minutes she drives away. Thank heavens for windows that close.

Funny thing is the same people saying "I would have sat there" are the same that would get pissed like the other guy.

Look to see if someone is waiting for you. If so, pull out, and park in the back of the lot to check your phone.

Karmas a bitch...

If you got the spot it's your spot.

They have no place to tell you when to leave.

No.

Assuming it's not a busy parking lot and there are plenty of empty spaces.

Nope, I would just find an open parking spot.

And Karma isn’t that stupid.

OP needs to clarify. Are we talking about a big grocery store with large parking lot and open spaces, or a small neighborhood grocery where people are waiting for spots to open?

If it's the former then they're the arsehole
If it's the latter then OP is the arsehole
