Please tell me that you told your insurance company that you are doing crossfit "hard". That would be like calling your auto insurance company and telling them that on your free time you really enjoy getting hammered and then driving.

As understand it, BMI is a useful metric for group- and population-level data. It's essentially a proxy statistic for obesity.
It seems that it's use as an individual-level metric is a good example of the ecological fallacy.
I guess it would be like taking educational levels of a population as a metric of intelligence; however, at the individual-level, it would not be a valid metric.

And mentioning youre a crossfitter wont go well for you
Once I started crossfit I had to fill out a form saying I would talk about it and tell people I do it as often as possible.
So, here it is. I do crossfit.

5'10" and 190 is overweight, not morbidly, but overweight. Deal with it. Maybe the crossfit isn't the right exercise routine for you.

I will admit there are loads of idiots that do this stuff, and do not work on their form, wether it be the trainers/coaches fault or them just not really listening. It's a great workout if you focus on doing things correctly. I guess from playing football I had a little more experience with weight lifting and conditioning compared to a 38 year old soccer mom, which I find is often the stereotypical cross-fitter around here.

So, do they charge black people more because of their higher rates of hypertension and strokes? Do redheads get higher rates for increased melanoma risks? Do women with a history of breast cancer pay higher rates? If you get ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt, does your health insurance premium rise?
The whole deal is just a big scam to make more money, just like the whole health care industry in general.

Really so how do you judge that? Bc Froning is classified as the fittest man on earth and he's even heavier than I. You saying he's overweight too?

Two things here:
1) not a verb.
2) so your form is even worse than most cross fit "athletes"?

U so fat........and so mad.

By crossfit standards... there are a bunch of others who are fitter than Froning
Here's one

I wouldn't say by Crossfit standards but by others standards. I think that's why Crossfit was discovered though so you can determine the ultimate level of fitness. Kai Greene has an awesome physique but I doubt he could do well in a metcon workout.
By the same token one could say an Iron Man athlete is the fittest in the world but they couldn't pick up the weight Kai Greene can so I think by combining both worlds you get a better definition of what is "fit"

FTR crossfit does not equal the ultimate level of fitness. The people who you keep talking about have the genetics that they would be ultimately fit regardless of what half baked workout they are doing.

Bout a year. So according to the BMI ratings my friend who smokes weed, eats toaster strudels, plays xbox all day and is 5'9 165 is healthier than Rich Froning who is 5'9 198. That makes a whole lotta damn sense.
yes, numbers can and do lie.

BMI is very inaccurate for tall or short people. It is only usable by average height people who are not intense athletes.
A professor at Oxford has made a much better index than BMI but it is more complicated to understand (thus lower adoption rates).

Welp I guess all baseball and football players who are in peak condition by the way are unhealthy and overweight.
