With the recent Beetlejuice week on Sirius, I've been watching some old clips. Has there ever been s more enigmatic figure in recent pop culture?

He clearly has learning deficiencies: can't read, can't write. But you can tell as he's talking, he has coherent ideas in his head, he just struggles to get them out.

He also appears to be good at physical things. He can shoot pool pretty well, it seems. There was one clip where he squared up to fight a guy and it looked like he knew what he was doing. Would have gotten whooped due to his small stature, but his form looked ok.

Truly captivating.

He's a curiosity, for sure, but I find Sour Shoes more enigmatic.

I think his short term memory is horrible.

He also has to wear diapers which he soils all the time.

He lives in the same city as me in Georgia. My wife was coming home from work one day and saw him wandering aimlessly down the middle of a busy 6 lane road.

I would have stopped and picked up Beet, had it been me.
