Let's Talk About Luggage

What do you baws own?
Hardside? Spinner? What is the move here?
I'm torn between buying a cheaper set that will get ruined in a couple of years but easier to bite the bullet and replace, or buying an expensive set that could last a while, but could also get destroyed by some retard baggage handler and it'd be a waste of money. I've read horror stories of people spending hundreds on expensive luggage only to have it go through hell one or two trips into its life and it not be worth the investment.

Most of the good ones have a lifetime guarantee.

Tumi is expensive but it is legit. I’ve been pleased.
If you don’t travel much, don’t spend too much. If you do a lot of traveling it is a worthy investment.

I bought victorinox spinners about 8 years ago and as much as they have tried the airlines can’t kill them.

I have Delsey’s rolling luggage. My biggest checked bag has lasted 10 years with only minimal wear. My only issue has been with a carry-on where the handle got stuck. That was after 5-6 years and the replacement has been fine.

When I started traveling I bought a set of top of the line Samsonite soft luggage. I had a couple of problems over the course of years of air travel. In each case, Samsonite replaced the bag with a brand new one, no questions asked.
And my most frequently used is the 2-wheel pull behind that fits an overhead bin.
Also, the couple of times I had a bag damaged it was because I checked the bag.

Travelpro went to shite. I switched to Luggageworks. Hundreds of thousands of miles with no issues.

Has anyone tried that Away luggage that has been advertising a decent bit? Looks well made and not outrageously priced.

Went in Macys Monday and saw they've got some big markdowns on luggage right now.

Whatever airliner you fly with is just going to ruin your luggage. Buy a cheap check bag but a nice Away carry on.

I used to travel 25+ weeks per year for work and I agree. I got tired of them tearing up my nice luggage.
They would typically fix or replace it if you complained but it took a month. Walmart specials after the first few incidents.

They make a great product and back it up with a badass warranty. Definitely BIFL.

Get a steamer trunk. You won't regret it.
