Looks like the same line as last time. Good thing I love anxiety….

Based on the radar out of New Orleans and Lake Charles, the line looks like it will stay intact through New Orleans.

There appears to be a more isolated cell in the Gulf just south of Morgan City, but that would be more of a threat for Houma and areas south of New Orleans.

Down South, we are seeing a transition to a more broken line.

Good for Nola?

I feel like I’m in a conversation with military people when they start using all their abbreviations and acronyms

I’m reading what y’all say but I don’t know what it means

Is there a benefit to canceling schools for weather like this? Does it actually provide a benefit over the times in the past when we didn't cancel schools and close govt offices for fronts? Are lives saves? What are the economic impacts?

Go find the thread discussing school closures. We dont make those decisions in here or really discuss the need for school and gov closures.

I love how they’re just “fronts” as long as Baton Rouge makes out okay.

A tornado during rush hour with cars full of kids in gridlock sounds like a horrific event. And as we’ve learned tornados are not only foreign for the most part to the southeast but they’re unpredictable. They might not form. They might level a few city blocks.

And with the landscape the way it is now a days they have to shut down.

Yes, We rode out a cat one hurricane at school when I was a kid. I remember sitting the the gym. They waited til it was too late and parents were picking their kids up in a hurricane. You could make and argument both ways but I feel like if they tried to do that today you’d have 100 lawsuits and nightmares the schools don’t want to deal with on top of the responsibility for all the kids if something happens

How’s the winds over in your area of the state? They have calmed down a lot within the hour in NE AL?

2 hours ago that would have been BR, but all they had was a little front.
