is this going to be more of a wind/tornado(possibly) event? i see nothing on radar as of this morning indicating a rainstorm heading east.

Flash flooding could be a problem in localized areas.

Seems like DFW was upgraded as well.

Most of us will be asleep so this might get interesting.

Also, I hope this thread leads to numerous minor inconveniences for WaWaWeeWa. Not sure how it would, but I still hope it does.

It sad as no one expected a tornado to hit Arabi

Arabi was in the hatched region for strong tornadoes per the Storm Prediction Center. There was a tornado watch up at the time. It shouldnt have been unexpected.

You raise a good point on the difficulty to communicate these risks though. Much like the center line of the hurricane cone, people end up focusing on the bullseye on these SPC outlooks.

You should see the line of storms forming back over east Texas during the very early morning hours tomorrow. Here is a simulated radar look from the 12z HRRR valid at 5am tomorrow morning. You can see the line of storms taking shape over eastern Texas.

Duke, I have no ability to discern wind fields for myself

Atlanta metro looks out of the danger zone and I don't see anything from SPC hinting we'll get what Alabama gets overnight or 3/31 - Is that right?

Given Atlanta is so treed, even straight line winds of 40+ is always a nightmare.

Good news for ATL is the low pressure moves away from the area overnight, which slacks the pressure gradient.

Those lines are for certain surface pressures, increasing from west to east. Lines that close, like you see in MS, big changes in pressure over not a lot of space. So big wind.

It does pick up in GA by morning but as the low pressure center pulls north into Canada, you never get that tight of a gradient in ATL.

So you have no actual knowledge or basis for any worthless opinion you share. That's what I figured.
