She could make it a living hell, trying to get permits and any zoning done. Don't under estimate the useless with power, they know how to abuse it.

Not sure if you are familiar with Tigerland but it's an absolutely great location. It's right next to the LSU golf course, within sight of Tiger Stadium and next to popular bars etc. It would be a great location for a higher end student development.

I always assumed the stuff down on Ben hur would face the same fate the Tigerland did but with all the new businesses there it may be insulated

Let’s discuss the housing projects of Tigerlandquote:Bulldoze and start over. It's a great location. I wish a developer would buy all of it and tear them all down. Tiger Plaza used to be decent though. Not sure if that's still the case. I lived in those shitty red four plexes next to it.

Yea, no Tiger Plaza and those red four plexes are still pretty elite. Every other residence though within a square mile of that is complete shite and housing the next generation of what will be the future of the LA penal system.

Tiger Plaza I assume?

Tops didn't exist at the time and my dad lived 10-15 miles from LSU when I was a student. He told me he'd make sure that I graduated debt free but he wasn't paying for an apartment so that I could avoid the 25 minute commute. The shitty red apartments nextdoor were $350 per month at the time

Someone is probably getting a lot of tax credits for low income households no.

Probably so. It was definitely trending down 20+ years ago when I lived there in the mid to late 90s

I lived on the periphery of Tigerland, on Brightside.. at the time, Tigerland itself was pretty nice, it was the early 90s, we actually wanted to live in Sharlo (not sure if still there), but couldn’t afford it.. we were such broke students that we tried getting into what, at that time, were the only Sec 8 apartments , also on Brightside, but we didnt qualify for whatever reason.. so wound up paying, i think $450 a month for 2 bed, 2 story townhome in one of those ubiquitous 4 plexes , which worked out to only $150 each.. i cant even imagine how cheap those Sec 8 apartments would have been at the time.

Most of those places were dumps when I was there 10 years or more ago. Surely they are borderline falling down by now.

The place I lived in was an absolute dump. It used to have a pool in the courtyard I guess. They filled the pool in but left the pool ladder sticking out of the dirt

One girl was robbed at gun point and forced oral in one of those ruined down condemned apartments. Terrible fricking place.

It was the place to live in the early 2000’s also

It is a damn shame what it has become

It really is a shame.

I spent 4 years at Tiger Plaza way before the whole area got so sketchy. Best years of my lyfe.

Only had to drive if going to Murphy’s.

Best Thing would be for a fire to sweep through the area and force them to raze it all. Build something worthwhile and purge all the section 8

Stumbled home from Fred's most weekends. $4 calzones at the original Rotolos on Wednesday

I woke up one night on the couch at like 2:15 with some absolutely wasted guy in my apartment looking for his bedroom. Guess I left the door unlocked

It would have to get bought up and swiped clean and redone.

It could get turned into something amazing if it did though

Sorry dude. It was a jaggermeister night after screwdrivers at Freds.

Thanks for the leftover calzone.

The LSU bars need to be nearer to campus like Murphy’s used to be. The area down highland past Chimes is the bigger travesty.
