I've pondered this before as well. Fried chicken places food taste is inversely proportional to the service.
Taste: Popeyes/Zaxbys/canes/Chik Fila
Service: Chik Fila/Canes/Zaxbys/Popeyes
I dont have KFC or Bojangles, or others in my area. But my theory is they will follow the trend.

This is a large part of the problem. Few places staff correctly for their business (CFA and In-and-Out do), and when they dont there is slow and unfriendly service.
Its all to save $$$ in labor costs.

Popeyes on campus is always friendly and fast enough… they have an express window also.

2 things...
1. Our popeyes aren't like that so maybe it's the local clientele.
2. There is a distinct difference in those two sets of pics that I cant quite put my finger on.
