frick those dudes. My fiancé uses a cab account when we are in Nola and its the most useless thing ever.
If you tell them you have one, they refuse just about every time and say they aren't here to pick you up. I started just shoving everybody in and telling them about the account when we are almost home.

You are charged a cleaning fee that that is pretty high so while I'm sure it is a nuisance, the drive will not have to pay for cleaning.

Yeah I have found the ones in NOLA are the worst. Few weeks ago wife and I just wanted to go a few blocks late in the evening to hotel and took us while to find one that would take a card when most clearly had machines for it. Finally found one but he wouldn't let me take my bottled coke in the cab. But they can do what they want with no competition.

Cabs in BR do the same shite. They won't say they DON'T take cards, but they'll make it very clear they prefer not to.
Every time we've offered to stop at an ATM instead, they prefer to do that and stop the meter than run our card. Very weird.
One of them explained it to us before when we asked, but I don't remember exactly. I guess somehow they don't end up with much of the tip if you use a card..? I don't know.
