LEO respond to calls made by others describing perps who commit crimes. They can't control who they have to seek given the physical descriptions relayed by dispatch.

The accusations being thrown around by BLM are unreal.

I don't think it's the responding to calls that they're worried about.

And when you get there should you not asses the situation? Or do you shoot first ask question later?

Heard of a Terry Stop? Terry v. Ohio, yes. It is a reasonable suspicion stop that some refer to as "stop and frisk." Are you implying that they are bad because blacks are disproportionately subjected to them? Bad news, blacks disproportionately commit crime. Black neighborhoods are disproportionately violent and those neighborhoods have a disproportionate amount of street activity in general. The fact that Terry stops have been so fiercely attacked has resulted in huge reductions in proactive (i.e. non-dispatched contact) policing. Many argue that this reduction is what is directly responsible for the spikes in violent crime in many urban centers populated heavily by blacks and the increased flow of black blood on American streets of late.

Simple solution, don't have cops patrol black neighborhoods. I'm sure the civilized folk there can police themselves.

No, you let the guy who you're trying to restrain get to the gun in his pocket. Duh!

Why did he lie to the police anyway? Was he supposed to have that gun? Why were the cops there anyway? Were they called out there? What are they supposed to do when one doesn't comply? They tazered him twice FFS. After that, are they just supposed to be like " Oh well, we tried. Maybe we will be able to check him for the weapon someone said he was threatening them with next time."

How f*cking stupid are you? You actually think they just went up and shot him for no reason?

Not at all. I was just responding to OP's point that cops can't be racist because they know perp identity before responding. Terry stops provide the opportunity for racial profiling bc officers have the discretion as to who they stop.

BigDawg, I've got a newsflash for you, everything about law enforcement provides an opportunity for racial bias for the corrupt officer. On a dispatched call, I think you realize that officers have wide latitude for discretion. I can arrest you or I can warn you. I can slap cuffs for dwi, or I can have you call a relative to come pick you up. I can get there in a hurry or I can take my time and mark it up as GOA (gone on arrival) or unfounded. The standard is reasonable suspicion and you must be able to articulate it. Merely walking down the street is not enough. I know full well that a report can be written to justify many actions, but eventually it will catch up with you. There will always be another scumbag, so there is not need to jeopardize your job, your freedom, and what you've worked for to make some B.S. up. Having said that, I know there are some stupid cops out there and yes, I know that Terry can be abused, but no more than so many other aspects of law enforcement.

How do we know he was even give a chance? We have seen many examples where cops show up and get physical right away
