Imagine that...states with a high number of broke-dicks and welfare sponges get turned down for mortgages.

I dont see "race" anywhere in the "reason for denial" column

I thought a report recently stated that thats why people get denied

this Lending Tree thing cant be accurate

Poorer people don't apply for loans because they know they can never afford to own a house

The rent to buy ratio here in Memphis makes it ridiculous not to buy if you can. Many can’t though

The only comment I have is that the way they randomly included to list the States with the city in a non-standard or correct way is killing me.

Is "Ala." easier or more descriptive than the proper "AL?" Why doesn't Miami have "Fla." behind it given there is also a Miami in Ohio, yet Orlando gets "Fla."

Dear God -- I can't. The creator of this graphic needs to be caned.

Seems the major cities have a lot of high debt people applying for mortgages. That makes intuitive sense.

California does ( at least used to) offer interest only mortgages and 60year mortgages.

Well, there isn't actually a Miami, OH. There is a university called Miami, but it is located in Oxford. I don't think anyone would confuse a university for a city.

Good point, but the non-standard abbreviations are still killing my OCD. Why put "Tenn." when "TN" is proper and more concise?

Debt to income being a problem in a City with a large portion of employment in the service industry where tips are not accurately reported also makes sense.
