I am with Sun God. I hate all their sports BS, but they are what they are. And they churn out some good graduates.

Too much risk. There are plenty of other options for good programs without subjecting them to A&M

Fair enough. But I mean if Sun God Jr gets into UC-Berkeley I’d send him there.

I know several friends from the Nola area who are sending their kids to Bama. They are not athletes, so those damn gumps are doing something right.
over 70% of bama students are out of state. Graduate in the top half of your class at a catholic league school and bama will throw money at you

No disrespect but UGA graduates some real knuckleheads and is not the academic Mecca some on this board purport it to be.

Geaux Tigers!

I used to think the same about those types of schools until I went to visit Stanford. And later was there for a graduation. I don’t know where you stand politically, but the idea of paying for your children to be radicalized is real.

An argument could be made about the parents being weak, but in my experience that wasn’t the case at all.

I applied to LSU and UGA, hoping for a full scholarship. LSU required no letters of rec, interview, or anything other than a regular application. They basically awarded it based on a formula of GPA and ACT. UGA wanted so much crap, I gave up half way through. They wanted 2 peer recommendations. Why the hell would they want a high school kid’s opinion?

I think they now have a more stringent application process at LSU than in 2008. I’m thankful they didn’t because I would have bombed an interview back then.

I would let him or her pick any of the 13. The student is more important than the school. All of the SEC schools are exceptionally equipped to offer a stellar education to an ambitious student.

Well not counting Georgia for obvious reasons and Vandy I'd say A&M or Florida if we're strictly talking academics. Football wise? Bama or LSU

I was accepted into both and my dumbass chose LSU because I wanted to major in PETE.

Things have turned out well enough but I had no idea what I was doing as a HS senior
